Labour Day Sunset
[previous] :: [next]Since moving to my new apartment I've been waiting for a great sunset so I could take a picture from my balcony. And here it is! The first part of the sunset was golden - the clouds looked like they were actually lined with gold!
Then the sunset went crimson. The low-hanging clouds look like cotton candy.
I'm located at Broadview and Danforth. The view is looking north-east across the Don Valley. The buildings in the distance are at Yonge & St.Clair. This article has been viewed 2156 times in the last 58 months drea: 5th Sep 2006 - 03:52 GMTIt's gorgeous. My co-worker told me to come over and see the crimson sunset over the parking lot of the mall. It was gorgeous! So I took a picture, I'll try to remember to post it up. It had a crimson color with a hint of pink. It was so nice. Cameo: 5th Sep 2006 - 18:35 GMTI'm confused! You say your view is looking north east, but doesn't the sun set in the west? What am I missing? EvilGentleman: 5th Sep 2006 - 20:15 GMTAt this time of year, based on the sunset data available from Environment Canada and a little mental arithmetic, the sun at Broadview and Danforth, Toronto (79°21'W) should have set yesterday in the direction of 284 degrees true, or 7.5 degrees south of WNW. However, it would appear that these pictures were taken a few minutes after the sun passed below the horizon, so I would guess that the bright spot in the second shot is due WNW of Michelle's camera. If I am correct, there should be the west end of a ramp connecting Bayview Ave with the Don Valley Parkway in the darkened foreground. This would mean that the triple buildings on the right are the ones near Yonge and Saint Clair, and the two building in front of the fading sunset itself are located on Woodlawn just east of Yonge. Yonge and Saint Clair is somewhat NW of Broadview and Danforth. Gotta love Google Earth, LOL. Comment on this article..[previous] :: [next] |
