I love all these sites on Manchester. Does anybody know if there was a tobacco factory in the city in the 1890s? Andrew Smith: 29th Jan 2008 - 11:13 GMTliesbeth I'm not sure if it is on the site of a chapel, it is on the junction of Deansgate and Gt Bridgewater St though. I'll try and find out if there was a tobacco factory- there may have been one on Trafford Park. lisa merrick: 12th Feb 2008 - 02:15 GMTi think there was a tobacco factory on ludgate hill. near sharpe street next to a school.
