I guess next time I pass there, I will have to actually get out of the car and take a look. EvilGentleman: 9th Aug 2006 - 17:30 GMTOk, as much as I love Timmies, that is ludicrous! That is as much of a sin as Don MacLean allowing Madonna to do a cover version of American Pie! Night club... mayyyyybe... EvilGentleman: 9th Aug 2006 - 22:16 GMTOk, will do. Next time I pass the corner of Victoria Avenue and The Boulevard in Westmount, I will have a look-see.
EvilGentleman: 15th Aug 2006 - 21:49 GMTWell here on citynoise, I posted this article about a fire, and for other citynoise articles, try www.citynoise.org/search/fire Outside of citynoise, try www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=fire&btnG=Google+Search&meta= EvilGentleman: 18th Aug 2006 - 18:18 GMTExcerpt from http://www.westmountexaminer.com/article-24092-Council-ends-sixyear-sale-of-Fire-Station-No-2.html (the webpage no longer exists, I retrieved the data from a Google cache) ##The sale of the Fire Station No 2 building at Victoria and The Boulevard for $800,000 was expected to finally be approved by Westmount City Council at its July meeting on Wednesday. Found this pic at www.haya.qc.ca/fire/stations/westmount-2.html As you will notice from comparing the above pic from 2002 with the pic below, taken today, some time between March 2002 and August 2006, somebody stole the brass or copper cornerstone plaque. I would imagine it was stolen at least a year ago, from the looks of the rust on the bolts. Or maybe the city took it off to be preserved in a museum, as the fire station is now a residential home.
EvilGentleman: 18th Aug 2006 - 18:20 GMTThe article excerpt was from July 12, 2006. By the way, why did my italics not work? Is the code messing up? Comment on this article..[previous] :: [next] |
