McShopping Center, Venus Flytrap U-Haul, Alabama Cop Plate and an Iranian Fiesta

- EvilGentleman - Monday, August 7th, 2006 : goo

Just a few odd shots I took lately.

This is a McDonald's on Notre-Dame, in the far eastern end of the city. It seems normal enough, being attached to a strip mall, but the McDonald's sign does not say restaurant, but instead has the French phrase for shopping center. None of the stores seem to be McDonald's themed, so I can only assume that the whole strip mall is owned by McDonald's.

image 14265
I saw this truck parked in front of my building and I thought it was rather unusual to have a venus flytrap on a commercial moving vehicle.

image 14266
While going back to my car in the parking lot at Carrefour Angrignon, a large mall in the Lasalle borough, I saw this car with an Alabama plate and a badge that says "Member, Fraternal Order of Police" partially obscuring the plate.

image 14267
I heard noise one night on Sainte-Catherine street, and was quite surprised to realize that there was a Mexican band playing for a group of people in the Saffron Restaurant at the corner of Saint-Mathieu. What made this so unusual is that Saffron is an Iranian restaurant.

Matt: is that macdonalds picture taken in beaconsfeild?

EvilGentleman: 11th Aug 2006 - 03:18 GMT

Nope, it was taken in the East end near the corner of Liebert and Notre-Dame, just a few blocks past Honore-Beaugrand.
