Passenger Side Rear View Mirror
[previous] :: [next]
Downtown Houston, Texas as seen from the passenger side rear view mirror on Spur 529 heading out of downtown and onto US-59 South. This article has been viewed 2386 times in the last 2 years EvilGentleman: 22nd Jul 2006 - 20:28 GMTYou forgot to mention the mile marker. Actually, you are almost as bad as me for overdescribing things, but better safe than sorry. By the way, great shot, especially considering that it was taken from a moving vehicle. My mirror vibrates too much to be able to do that. Don't you have potholes in Houston? groovehouse: 23rd Jul 2006 - 07:21 GMTMile marker 1 on Spur 529! LOL!!! I don't know the mile marker... but I will tell you this. In order to take this photo, one has about a one minute window of opportunity to snap the shot. The road curves and once you make the turn onto US-59, downtown is no longer visible in the rear view mirror! I took about 4 photos in that time frame and this one came out the best! Houston does have potholes, but this is a fairly brand new section of road, so the potholes will come later!! =) EvilGentleman: 23rd Jul 2006 - 21:42 GMTI have also been experimenting with taking hool-style photos using car mirrors while parked on the side of a busy street, since it is exponentially less likely that the subjects will become aware of the lens. I am learning how to create art, but to think those damn cops thought I was a mere stalker. The fact that all 784 of those shots were of women in miniskirts bending over was mere coincidence, I tell you! Too bad they confiscated my memory card. I hope they post some of the evidence here. As far as potholes go, I know things are getting bad in Montreal when I find the cobblestoned streets of Old Montreal to be smoother than major paved roads like Cavendish Boulevard.
groovehouse: 26th Jul 2006 - 14:51 GMTYes, a Jetta... how in the heck can you tell just from that shot? The Jetta belongs to my friend that lives at the location that allowed me these shots: www.citynoise.org/article/2949 steelisreal: 26th Jul 2006 - 21:08 GMTthe easiest way to tell is the door handle and that fender well also is an easy way to tell. Some people like me have only owned vw's and can tell what year it is by just looking lol. Comment on this article..[previous] :: [next] |
