I have found myself in the middle of nowhere.

In a bid to continue some kind of relationship with my estranged father I decided to visit him here in Folksworth, a scratch of a village without even an off-licence to support it, outside peterborough. So far I have entertained myself with a bag of cannabis, a box of beer, sky TV and his DSL connection; but I'm begining to crave life. In Cardiff I can walk to town in twenty minutes and seek out all the life I want, but here I have to bike somewhere just to get a bus. Its not that bad really, but I haven't braved the mission yet, been content to drift through the days on percolated coffee and spliffs. Not too bad a life, to be honest, but I could certainly do with something happening, anything.

Haven't spent much time in the country the past 8 or so years of my life, so the change of scenery and pace is certainly appreciated. I've seen more concentrated wildlife in the past few days than I've seen in years; but bunny rabbits and ring-neck doves can only entertain me for so long.

“The only people for me are the mad ones, the ones who are mad to live, mad to talk, mad to be saved, desirous of everything at the same time, the ones who never yawn or say a commonplace thing, but burn, burn, burn, like fabulous yellow roman candles exploding like spiders across the stars and in the middle you see the blue centerlight pop and everybody goes "Awww!"

Peterborough has always struck me as a wasteland of inaction, narrowboats and farmland, with barely enough critical mass to even stand on its own two feet. I know this cannot be completely true. Through myspace I'm dimly aware that there is a burgeoning music scene about somewhere. If I can find it maybe I can tap into Peterborough's mainline and sipphon myself off some. I want to swallow Peterborough whole, wrap myself, innit, like a tin-foil blanket, absorb its heat.

So, this is a call. I'm looking for people to show me peterborough's underbelly. I crave action and joy. I'm here for another week after the weekend and I'm running low on weed. Come on peterborough, show me what you got!

unfortunately i don't live in peterborough anymore. my mum does though. and my nan. i'll give them your number, they'll whisk you off to for a wild day out. you can take a narrow boat to , if you can handle it.

Seriously though, great piece of writing. Feel free to write like that here anytime.
