If I go to Fredericton, I am definitely telling the bus driver that they have a nice rack. Of course, if the driver is female, things may get a little complicated, but that's life... aer suzuki: 30th Jun 2006 - 09:19 GMTfar, far sexier than a seattle metro bus, look at those way cool headlights, and you can't go wrong with blue and white. seattle busses are painted up whores. really, they're putting huge garish advertisments on the entire sides of the busses. they even cover the windows with some sort of mesh, so when i say the advertisement covers the entire side, i mean it. it's very ugly, sometimes makes it hard to see the bus number, and makes it really difficult to see your stop coming up at night... wanna trade? anon (131.202.58.26): 30th Jun 2006 - 12:43 GMTThe reason this is so sexy is because this is the equivalent of public transit pornography in my city. We do indeed have those terrible buses with the ads on them, they just don't put them on the older busses because they're not as big and the sides arn't as flat. Also, the service in this city needs a lot of improvement. Chris Erb: 30th Jun 2006 - 12:44 GMTThe post above was me. I also jsut noticed that the tree in front of the bus doesn't have any leaves. Peter: 30th Jun 2006 - 14:47 GMTooh, i love those oldskool gmc busses with the double-headlights! growing up, we called those "CARTAs", cause that was the name of my town's pubtrans system. when i saw that photo, i almost hastily commented "oh, look! a carta!"... those old busses also have a distinctive engine-sound. straight up detroit diesel. Chris Erb: 30th Jun 2006 - 16:18 GMTWe have four different types of busses in Fredericton, these are the oldest ones which I imagine will be retired soon as I heard transit is getting some federal funding and there are plans to buy new busses. I've assigned personalities to all the busses, I'll take some pictures sometime of each type. Peter: 30th Jun 2006 - 16:29 GMTchris: that sounds neat- a bus personality pictorial, heh. very citynoise. Chris Erb: 22nd Jul 2006 - 22:23 GMTI've finally made one here: http://www.citynoise.org/article/4587/ Comment on this article..[previous] :: [next] |
