Home Pt. 3: Norad's/Red Line
[previous] :: [next]When I was born, Sussex had four car dealerships: Norad's Chrysler, Lamb Ford, Clark's Oldsmobile and another that sold Chevs (I can't remember its name). The building below used to be Norads which moved near the high school, Lamb Ford recently shut down and was replaced by another Ford dealership on the outskirts of town. Its former location is now the future site of a Wal Mart (don't get me started). The other two, which were downtown, merged to creat Clarks's Chev/Olds which is right beside Norad's. Clark's is now a church and the other has been converted into a line of stores (not quite a strip mall but close). This is the old Norads location. It's on Main Street right after you cross into the town of Sussex from Sussex Corner. They've had trouble doing anything with this place since the car dealership moved out. A transmission shop was on the left side for awhile but appears to be gone. Right before I left, an office supply store that used to be downtown moved in. I would get free photocopies (I used to put on punk and metal shows and had to make a lot of posters) in exchange for fixing their computer which broke down quite often. It is now home to Red Line convenience. The building is now getting a face lift and will probably look quite sharp.

Now I know. Thanks, man. Chris Erb: 28th Jun 2006 - 03:10 GMTI'm sure the NORAD lines you know of are a bit more interesting than this one. haha Chris Erb: 28th Jun 2006 - 03:11 GMTHopefully I'll have the first part of the downtown series up tomorrow. It's going to be a lot of fun but a lot of work too. Comment on this article..[previous] :: [next] |
