these are fresh out of the box, and unadulterated. taken just a couple of hours ago. looking pretty cool at .

the building in the middle of this shot is one of my favorites, even though it's pretty basic, even sort of non-descript exept for the top. i pass it everyday going to work, but it looks better at night. but then i think most things do.

if you stood on the spot where this shot was taken, you'd be between and . capitol hill is where all the hipsters hang out. downtown is where all the people in suits hang out. at night, both places are where all the people who like to swagger around and bellow at each other hang out. but the bars are on capitol hill.

in the bottom part of the frame you can see headlights streaming along I-5. the two taller buildings are also among my favorites, i don't know the names of the corporations who built and/or own them. i like them for their lines, colors, luminescence, and reflective qualities, not their function, so knowing the names doesn't really matter. at least not tonight.

the bluish-grey glassy structure in the lower left is a metro bus station. there are alot of bus stops downtown but this metro station is a more significant nexus. this is where you board the express busses to areas farther afield. if you live on capitol hill and need to get to the airport this is where you'd go. and it looks cool at night.

a bit right of center you can see the . when out-of-towners ask about all that world's fair stuff, i just tell them it's rubbish, the space needle is actually where george jetson lives.

another shot of the bus station. there's something about fluorescent lights at night on concrete...

Railyard Botanicals

The Atlantic Avenue railyards are bristling with botanical life at the moment. Here are some samples of what's growing over there. We begin with some Queen Anne's Lace. (I think.) Thistle. Goldenrod. Unknown. A couple of blocks away, across the street from the unsafe safe,...
