Balcony Love

it was a beautiful day. nicole was sitting on her balcony enjoying the view of the gulf of mexico. she was reading a series of selected poems by robert frost when her quiet time was rudely interrupted by the tall, handsome blond haired young man, bret.
bret: oh i'm sorry for being so loud, i hope i didn't disturb you,
nicole: that's ok, (thinking to herself that he knew he was interrupting me),
bret: great sun today, looks like you got a nice tan, (thinking to himself that she would look great white, blue, or any color)
nicole: i've been working on this tan for a few days now, (i wonder where this guy thinks he is going)
bret: well on you it looks great! (gee, i hope i can make it to first base with her)
bret: it looks like clouds are coming in fast. (darn it, i wanted to take her for lunch on the beach)

(author's note: they continue to talk that kind of simple small talk that two strangers talk when trying to hang on to a conservation of simple talk, got it?)

bret: my name is bret, what's your's?
nicole: nicole, wow those clouds are rolling in fast. i have a fear of tropical storms, better bring in my towels and chairs.
bret: (base hit, i'm going to first, thank you storm) wow your right i'll do the same and why don't you come over to my room and we can sit out the storm together?

(authors note: a quick passing storm hits the beach and hotel. it is frightening as winds, thunder and lightening hit the area. nicole and bret are sitting at the sliding glass door by the balcony keeping company and bret talking about his college days. and yes, they go out for dinner with her family and they fall in love. and yes, i'm keeping one eye on the storm, one eye on them and the other eye on my pizza.)

48 Abell Bites the Dust?

Note: I deleted the letter originally posted here because the City Council vote is past, and in retrospect I don't feel comfortable with the personal information it contained. To sum up the letter: I think it's a bad idea...
