No sane cyclist would be on the left of a bus, especialy down a City street. Any crushed SUV

(Sorry for the break in transmission, had to fix a problem on my PC), and Bus action only illustrates the need for more control measures on Mass Transit routes (Buses; inclusive of cycle lanes), and urban car lanes. Oh and in case your confused about why left, I was equating it to UK driving. Going down the non passenger access side, stops passengers getting knocked over by cyclists when they leave the bus, well away from the curb.

I imagine the day when busses all over the world will revolt against the private automobile. They will, all at once, turn against their companions on the road, slowly destroying every car, truck and SUV in its wake. After the smoke clears, mass transit will reign supreme and rule the roads.
