Whilst visiting the now decommissioned post-nuclear (Royal!) Air Force base for a picnic yesterday, and a visit to the Science Museum collection at Wroughton Wiltshire; I saw the granddaddy of the of the article attached:www.citynoise.org/article/917 The coolest in the world. Me and mine would love to find out if anyone still makes these .

No beats. All these now defunct nuclear sites, give me some hope for peace on Earth; but a chill down my spine at the deviousness of those who held their finger poised on the big button.

i've just spent a good hour (or two) trawling through this: www.simoncornwell.com/urbex/

Cracking Web site. I'm making plans already. I live a pleasant Cycle ride from Cane Hill. So might try and get over there next weekend, if my old velocipede is back from the repair shop in time. I lived not far from Rainhill Mental Hospital (near Liverpool), as a child and Cane Hill has the same look about it. Rainhill was Brittan’s largest (in size) secure mental hospital pre World War 2. After to Broadmoor, it held a Brittan’s large number of those society couldn’t be bothered to help. Alas Rainhill has been knocked down now during the 1980's, and re-developed into -vill.

I hope you do. and if you do, i demand that you share the photos with us here. I'd like to repost the urbex stuff here, but i won't do it without permission. I've pleaded with mr simon cornwell to share his urban explorations with us here on citynoise, cause i think they're simply fascinating, but as yet no reply. I can only assume he's busy exploring or has fallen down some kind of shaft. I live near the Rauceby Mental Asylum mentioned on www.simoncornwell.com/urbex/ but it seems it's been bought and redeveloped now.

Urban exploration is my new dream hobby
