don't know, but most animals have a good nose for what their bodies need, although giant pandas seem to have chosen a hard road to follow for their physiology

strong carnivourous dentes. the bamboo must be very compelling to have distracted from a physiology made for meat.
can pigeons smell? a naughty dog i know, charlie, is very keen on bins and rubbish bags, but dogs have heightened smell, and like stuff we consider 'off' but i don't know about birds

My friend and I would feed a beautiful wolf named Kiba all kinds of stuff -
and the food that she would find on her own was, well, Yum !
