jack, the patron saint thing is a take off on the catholic religion where they have patron saints for almost every aspect of life... see the religious link below:

At this moment my block is in the midst of the "West Fest Block Party" - there are four sponsored locations of stages and a few bandit stages. It's pretty warm out, almost 90° and folks are starting to gather. There's a link below to the site that is hosting the Block Party (it's not very firefox friendly) for more info.
