Parking Meters

Just a few of the different types of parking meters in the area near downtown.

A new automated parking payment center found in the downtown core. When you get out of the car, you look to see what the parking spot number is. Then you go to the nearest parking payment center and enter your space number and pay for it. The machine then gives you a receipt with your space number, and the time your meter expires. What I like about these payment centers is that they can be found all over the downtown area, and they are all interconnected, so you can pay your meter anywhere downtown. No more running back to your parking spot.

Unlike most cities, handicapped people in Montreal have to pay for parking. But fortunately, they can still use old-fashioned meters next to handicapped parking spots.

Yes, very nice entry. The world's first parking meter was installed on july 16th in 1935 in Oklahoma City. Invented by Oklahoman Carl Magee.

barry: Nice one.

barry: Pic.4 love it Thank-you.

Similar (or is it identical?) to the first pic from Westmount, is this meter from 18th Avenue in Lachine alongside Lachine City Hall.

Egg and Cheese! Everything!

Several times a week, I stop at the Dunkin Donuts for a morning snack before work. It's across the street from my apartment building, so it's easy for me to pop in on the way to the parking garage. Anyway, this...
