Victoria Day Fireworks

- Gabi - Tuesday, May 23rd, 2006 : goo

In Canada, Queen Victoria’s birthday is an official holiday what usually closes with fireworks all over the city. Enjoying the view from my balcony, I found that those fireworks in the neighbouring schoolyard travelled rather horizontally. Dozens of kids were putting up a fight shooting each other with fireworks.

After awhile the police showed up. However, they only stopped firing after the policeman got out of the car to take a closer look, and soon after he left a show went on….. I hope nobody hurt.

You've obviously never had a Roman Candle Fight. Fun times.

I've been on the beach too, and it was a "fiasco": 5 minutes of lights (beautiful, but didn't help too much!)in the darken Lake Ontario beach, with most of the people trying to avoid getting hurt by the other poor fireworks lit by crying teenagers...
It was a "glorious" celebration, that's for sure... Only some beers after the "show" helped me to be... proud... !?
I don't wanna be cinic, but that's the truth. Nothing to worth it remember(not even a wound from a lost teenage-fire-rocket! - thank's God! - :) ). And maybe, yes, the traffic jam after...

the police should of done some thing like they could of talked to them and make them understand why it was dangerous. but it is a good thing they did not get hurt.

It is Victoria Day/24 Weekend once again and i hope people stay safe and not screw around with FIREARMS. That police officer should have at least been busted down to Parking Enforcement. If you happen to see this a year on and happen to have gotten the car number on the back the cruiser please post it here and something will be done about it.

maya: 18th May 2008 - 17:12 GMT

does anyone know what time the fireworks will be on this year

Who Cares: 18th May 2008 - 21:21 GMT

They obviously consented to shooting each other with fireworks. Stupid, but really nobody else's business.

fgasi.: 18th May 2008 - 22:26 GMT
