and my favorite the Pasta filled Colander Cow

They are just art for arts sake which is cool and they had the desired affect on me when I saw them every morning, they made me smile.

Arn't these things all over the city? I thought it was only a temporary exhibit. Is it permanent?

And why cows?

drea: 18th May 2006 - 04:10 GMT

we have cows all over toronto too. Don't have a picture right now though... Elicar? - lol Maybe another string of pictures for you? The Cow's a good idea!

jeeff: 18th May 2006 - 06:35 GMT

i thought it was only moose in toronto. chicago did a similar series of something too, right? it was a travel & tourism fad in the past few years.

Peter: 18th May 2006 - 13:59 GMT

I like how their hooves are bolted down to slow up any urban cow rustlers who may be lurking about.

roland: 22nd May 2006 - 09:08 GMT

cow parade in london was tops - a great excuse to go visit loads of urban parks i'd never heard of, my fave was a VW camper-cow along the embankement

blimey, you really did take that cow herding job on, didn't you?

Elicar: 14th Oct 2007 - 04:51 GMT

Jeef was right drea. We had only moose. And this way back in 2000 when I had a crappy computer with no memory at all so the pictures are stored in small sizes. Lastman got envious at the success of the Chicago project Jeeff mentioned. It was his hope to revive the slumping Toronto tourism.

I did go all around the city taking pictures of these four legged creatures. Lemme see if I can find them.

Interestingly, there were a lot of people doing the same thing I did: taking pictures for posterity. I even talked to some of the artists.

A few still remain on display but majority was auctioned off for charity.
