Bay of Quinte Sunrise

- EvilGentleman - Saturday, May 6th, 2006 : goo

My best friend Mike and I decided to go fishing in Tyendinaga one night last month. Or rather, Mike decided to go fishing, and I went along as the driver, since we had not had a road trip in ages. He fished all night while I slept in the car, and in the morning, we were treated to an awesome sunrise over the Bay of Quinte, which is an arm of Lake Ontario.

These first two shots are of the area where Mike was fishing. Yes, they are actually different photos.

Another shot from the fishing area.

I love the texture of old barns, I just can't get enough of them.

image 11757
Old abandoned farmhouses, too

image 11758
The last shot taken in Tyendinaga, this from the bridge that crosses the Bay of Quinte from Tyendinaga to Picton, Ontario.

image 11759
About a half mile south of the bridge in Picton, I found this old fence that I had to take a shot of.

What I like about this set is that not a single one of these photos were cropped, and only the barn and farmhouse needed a slight lighting adjustment.

evilg. this looks like the countrynoise.org web site.

EvilGentleman: 7th May 2006 - 02:03 GMT

Is that good or bad, joey? Either way, hope you like it.

jeeff: i especially like the 2nd last.

EvilGentleman: 7th May 2006 - 07:42 GMT

Thank you, jeeff. And to think I almost did not include that one...

Stevo: thanks, evil!

jethro: 7th May 2006 - 18:35 GMT

agreed. countrynoise.org could have been the title

joey: 7th May 2006 - 18:48 GMT

evilg. it's an objective observation. i do enjoy your posts.

joey: did you know; http://www.quintesunriserotary.com/

EvilGentleman: 7th May 2006 - 19:34 GMT

Thanks, all. Your kind words are very welcome. And joey, I was not aware of the Quinte Sunrise Rotary Club before, but with sunrises as beautiful as they get around there, it does not surprise me that someone named something after it. Thanks for the info.

Elicar, jeeff, hool, torontofreelance, Tamara, all the other TO citynoisers - it's less than two hours East of Toronto, too. You guys should go check it out.
