I like this set. I'm curious, do you ever ask people if they don't mind being photographed?

jack: 1st May 2006 - 13:27 GMT

pic 1- now where did elaine put the green paint?
pic 2- oh gee! did i put my dress on backwards?
pic 3- right over my foot you drove, where is there a police officer when you need one.
pic 4- no, no more on my knees for you. don't you get it? the centrifical force of the air under the wings can be greatly improved by Mc2 and pi equalling the ratio of tolerance to sine plus>of 821 to counterbalanced by.686pi 3x.
pic 5- he was oblivious to her line of walk and she was counting the cracks and trying desperately hard not to step on the line in the pavement and both unaware of the eventual collision befalling them both and history will show in the chronicles of torontoism that after they bumped into each other it became love at first sight which was'nt until an hour later due to the head injuries they both suffered.

EvilGentleman: 1st May 2006 - 15:49 GMT

Nice set. I especially liked shots 1, 2 and 4.

For shot 1, you seem to be making an art of shooting art on the street. You either have incredible luck finding canvas art wandering around Toronto, or you really know where to go to find it. Shots 2 and 4 are wonderful examples of your "still life from the sidewalk" specialty.

jack, your comments on picture 5 are absolutely hilarious! You should be getting paid to comment here, you are so good at making us smile.

Thanks, hool. Thanks, jack.

chiamattt: nice shots, dude. BC

hool: 2nd May 2006 - 02:13 GMT

myke: i rarely ask. i'm not really interested in photographing people's reaction to being photographed.

hool: 2nd May 2006 - 02:14 GMT

i did ask for the first shot. he didn't mind and just continued his painting. i asked in that instance because i wanted to get close and have a look at his work in progress.

Tamara: 2nd May 2006 - 17:14 GMT

hool ~ I love the forth shot! the shadow his hands are making are bird like, simply magic! Just wondering are you showing during Contact? I'd love to see more stuff.

hool: 2nd May 2006 - 18:23 GMT

thanks tamara. i'm not showing during Contact this year, though i have in previous years. i just closed a three day weekend show at the gladstone. in fact, i shot that fourth photo just outside the gladstone, when i was taking down my pieces to the car.

Liz: 3rd May 2006 - 03:45 GMT

Hool, I missed your show I'm so pissed. Totally my fault I ment to go check it out all weekend. Oh well, next time I suppose . . .

Tamara: 8th May 2006 - 00:19 GMT

hool ~ Please let us know when your having a show. I find your eye for details and shadows are awesome... seeing real prints would make your work that much more powerful, I can just imagine.

zo: 8th May 2006 - 03:59 GMT

ha!that's my old street, I would recognize it anywhere! I live in vancouver now, but how I miss sweet lisgar street.
