Gruesome Statue
[previous] :: [next]
During yesterday's snow shower, I found myself in Central Park. Despite the bizarro weather, the park was quite busy with workers preparing it for the summer. This statue caught my eye. It was just so gothically gory and gruesome, with eagles tearing open a ram, who is pleading with its eyes for help. It wasn't the cold that made me shudder. Catherine Penfold-Waxman: 6th Apr 2006 - 15:20 GMTI love that trippy statue at St John the Divine. We used to go to V &T pizza opposite and I'd always have an Alice in Wonderland moment with the statue. grange: 6th Apr 2006 - 15:23 GMTyes , very cool. Too bad eagles dont take down big prey , they eat mostly fish and are scavengers.. Now if the ram was dead and they were fighting over it .. Something of a fancyfull work , creepy though in the dark i bet . jack: 6th Apr 2006 - 17:25 GMTsometimes i feel like the ram. but most times i feel like the eagle. but i'd rather feel like a kid again.
cerniagigante: 7th Apr 2006 - 00:03 GMTVery fascist... I like the dropping snow, it gives life to the eagles... The ram is dead though, still warm, but dead. Eagles won't feast on a live ram, even fascist eagles. I've seen many statues in CP, but I've missed this one... I'll look for it next time ;-) Catherine Penfold-Waxman: 7th Apr 2006 - 03:17 GMTDrea, I'm glad that you like it enough to want to use it. Please feel free. What's the Frequency Kenneth?: 14th May 2006 - 20:19 GMTEagle and a GOAT HEAD. I think it's got something to do with arcane symbology or something. Prolly something Masonic or Bohemian. 1see: http://www.infowars.com/bg1.html 2see: http://www.propagandamatrix.com/archivebohemiangrove.html Comment on this article..[previous] :: [next] |
