Coming Soon to a Branch-tip Near You...
Browsing articles by Drea - [previous] :: [next]Today started off really, really gloomy. I didn't even wanna get up! But I had to, since I had an exam. It rained the whole way to school (this was at 7:30am). Got to school, studied with my group. By 12:30 (exam time), the weather cleared, it was sunnier, and I felt good too cuz I knew my stuff. Exam was easy, came out of the exam: it was still sunny! (whee!) And then I slept on the bus only to wake up, near my destination, to cloudy skies. Being optimistic, I thought: "hm....it should pass". Well, no. The drive from the bus station to home involved dark clouds and spitting (the rain, not me). I arrived home feeling very lazy because of the weather and I didn't want to study for my next exam (tomorrow at 12:30pm). However, as I was exiting my garage I looked over at my neighbour's backyard to find this (look at photo): a sign of spring, a sign of sunshine to come. I felt optimistic, and so, I took a picture. This tree is my favourite tree. In the fall, the whole tree is bright red (leaves do turn colours, I'm sure everybody knows this). I have pictures of the tree in the fall of last year. If anybody's interested to see it, let me know. So enjoy. I'm going to go study. Wish me luck! This article has been viewed 1905 times in the last 2 years drea: 3rd Apr 2006 - 20:41 GMTGRRR!! I keep forgetting to put my location and I forgot the title. Well, Location is Toronto/Markham, ON. Don't have a title for this, any suggestions? GGP: 3rd Apr 2006 - 21:19 GMTTitle idea: "Coming soon to a branch-tip near you..." drea: 4th Apr 2006 - 00:25 GMTOOHHH...I like that title!! Here's the leaves post-redness.
This is the full tree.
Elicar: 4th Apr 2006 - 01:49 GMTThat's very pretty! I have a dwarf Japanese maple that I planted two springs ago and I couldn't wait for it to grow to its full glory of about 5 feet! Of course, I may have to wait a lot more years since it is a slow grower. I bought a very short one as the taller ones are sooooo expensive. drea: 4th Apr 2006 - 01:53 GMTOoohhh..very cool! This is the only tree that turns red in the fall. I took a walk around my neighbourhood one autumn day to find other nice trees, but this by far is the best one. drea: 4th Apr 2006 - 01:53 GMTooohhh also...good luck with the waiting for you tree to grow Elicar. Patience IS a virtue. jack: 6th Apr 2006 - 14:55 GMTdrea very nice, i have the same tree next to my kitchen and in the fall everyting becomes red in the house.
