They say this is where King Kamehameha used to go to meditate. It's pretty isolated now, can only imagine what it was like back then on the . There was a big storm blowing in from the southeast so the was huge. It's also the southern most point in the US N18 54.677 W155 40.669(not Key West.)

Despite the storm it still seems so peaceful and very magical, particularily the meditation point. Thank you for sharing these pics.

Now only if Lake Ontario could get waves like that...

GGP: exquisite!

EvilGentleman: 29th Mar 2006 - 21:02 GMT

Waves like that on Lake Ontario? Say goodbye to the beaches, Toronto Island, and a good chunk of Kingston, Oshawa, Ajax, Hamilton, etc...

hey can you take a pic of the spot where burt lancaster kissed deborak kerr in from here to eternity

jenna: 29th Mar 2006 - 23:34 GMT

True I'd miss the beaches and the islands.. but surfing here at home would be fun.
It was just a passing thought.

jack: 30th Mar 2006 - 03:09 GMT

my goodness i'm meditating now just looking at these pic's.

drea: Wow..those are amazing! luv the first one

EvilGentleman: 30th Mar 2006 - 08:53 GMT

jenna: I understand completely. Who could blame you for such a neat dream? Here in Montreal, the only way we will get to surf is if a dam on the St. Lawrence River breaks, and that would most likely be more like a tsunami than a choice surfing wave, and the debris would make surfing pretty challenging. For you Torontonians, all you really need to surf is sustained winds out of the SSE at more than 80 km/hour. Well, at least we are not in Mexico City, where there are no rivers or lakes. We still have a remote chance...

The From Here to Eternity beach is on Oahu. I was only on Oahu long enough to go from one plane to another. I did get married on the beach where they filmed South Pacific, Lumahai Beach which is on the best IMHO (least spoiled and touristy) island, Kauai.
My friend Rachel took this pic of one of our wedding guests (I was a little to busy to taking any pictures.)

WOW! That golden beach picture could win a prize.
