Fag Butts

And before I get in trouble, please checken.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fag This is what happens when the snow melts. Taken right outside the Victoria Park subway station. This article has been viewed 3513 times in the last 2 years Biff: 26th Mar 2006 - 06:17 GMTYou are in trouble already you FAG BUTT HATER!There are LAWS in Alberta to protect us from your slime. Nice shots. spygirl_t: 27th Mar 2006 - 16:52 GMTWe're crazy if we think that trash we throw out will melt like the snow in spring time. It's disgusting... but an unfortunate reality in this big city. GGP: 27th Mar 2006 - 17:12 GMTgreat, horrifying shots. i read the other day that cigarette butts do not biodegrade! David Boyle: 28th Mar 2006 - 04:45 GMTI can visualize each of those individual butts as a headstone for yet another willing victim to become a statistic. Our choices determine our fate. Butt, they say; it will never happen to me. chiamattt: 28th Mar 2006 - 07:45 GMTOh my. Litter sucks. I agree. But then you bring up headstones! People die with or without cigarettes. What is the problem? Elicar: 28th Mar 2006 - 11:40 GMTThe problem? Litterbugs! If there is that many butts everytime the snow melts, there should be an ashtray there. Not having one will not discourage smokers to butt out! GGP: 28th Mar 2006 - 12:11 GMTthe cigarette companies should be forced to offer 10 cent deposits on every butt, to encourage people to return their butts and reduce litter EvilGentleman: 28th Mar 2006 - 15:08 GMTHmm, you may have something there. But since the burnt ends of the cigarettes smell so strongly, it would be akin to putting a bounty on dog shit: not for the faint of heart. Perhaps if the cigarette packs were made with a little box attached or embedded in the pack to contain the filters, which are the main cause for concern. Filterless cigarettes do biodegrade, but it is the fiberglass filters that cannot biodegrade. So encourage the smokers to break the filter off from the unsmoked portion of the cigarette, and return the filter for a deposit. Hmmmm, but the filters contain DNA from the smoker after use, I just know that would become an issue eventually... Why not just make the smoking of cigarettes with attached disposable filters illegal? This would force the tobacco companies to produce cigarettes without filters, and also would create a market for reusable solid filters that could be bought seperately. Of course, 90% of the flavour difference between cigarette brands is the little perforations at the junction of the filter and tobacco portions of the cigarette, so the number of cigarette brands may quickly drop from thousands to a dozen or so fairly quickly, and the filter market would become the big business, especially when it becomes obvious that tobacco is not the only product that could be put into the long-term filters Comment on this article..[previous] :: [next] |
