oh bliss! oh ecstacy! oh pink and purple joy-fluff!

elaine: "joy-fluff" ::snickers:: fab.

jeeff: man i really miss winter.

elaine: oh, jeeff!

jeeff: 23rd Mar 2006 - 19:02 GMT

my above comment is dedicated to everyone who's going to complain about it being too hot this summer. people, think of what you're saying!

Peter: 23rd Mar 2006 - 19:12 GMT

i, for one, will not be complaining about the heat... i recently bought a giant air-conditioner, super-cheap, from a downstairs neighbor who was moving out and took a $300 loss so he didnt have to carry the thing out of his apartment, heh. that and good deals are to be had on ACs when its 15 degrees out, and your neighbor forgets how nice it would be to have around in august in nyc...

its the first AC ive ever had... should be a good time this summer, heh. ill be chillin like a villain, yo.

Elicar: 23rd Mar 2006 - 19:39 GMT

I will be complaining jeeff! I try not to complain in the winter. At least you can dress up! You can only dress down so much in the summer before you get arrested. If we will have the same summer as we did last year, I am going going to ask directions from EvilG how to go to Kangirsujuaq.

Hot is fine! But humid? No amount of anti-frizz gives me a good hair day! ;)

Catherine Penfold-Waxman: 23rd Mar 2006 - 19:43 GMT

I'm with you Elicar. I hate a humid summer. And living on an island that sticks out into the Atlantic makes for damp-as-a-sponge summer. (Manhattan Island and Long Island)

a'la: 23rd Mar 2006 - 19:46 GMT

The U.K. is also an island that sticks out into the Atlantic.

Catherine Penfold-Waxman: 23rd Mar 2006 - 20:04 GMT

Certainly is. But it is rare that it get's to 100F (38c) and 95% humidity.

elaine: and we complain for a living

Peter: 23rd Mar 2006 - 20:17 GMT

cat: i hate those 100+ /95%+ days... add the heat-island effect, and shizzam. its like a crematorium.

jeeff: 24th Mar 2006 - 02:24 GMT

for me, extreme heat is more social. i can go to the beach, go to a pool, to an air-conditioned mall, drink a cold beer, etc. to cool off. these things are generally fun. but extreme cold is anti-social because it's painful and i just want to hibernate. so i'll take summer over winter any day. (toronto's summer/winter, that is)

elaine: plus DRESSES !!!!

jack: 24th Mar 2006 - 16:02 GMT

not me, i like sweltering heat, 100's in new york city, the asphalt melting carving my initials into the street, eating ices at the spumoni gardens in brooklyn, strolling the sands on the jersey shore, feeling the hot, burning sun. heaven help me i love it. i wish i had a fifle and a camel and i could roan the desert like lawrence of arabia.

Peter: 24th Mar 2006 - 16:40 GMT

i love the heat, too. its the humidity along with it that i hate. if it were up to me, id just live in a desert. i thought conditions at were great- sweltering heat, but no humidity. 115+ degrees and you never sweated... i like that just fine, especially in the winter :)

David: 24th Mar 2006 - 17:02 GMT

I'm agree with you summer lovers. Although I'm not sure I'd like the asphalt of NYC in the summer, living within walking distance to a beach (edgewater park) is awesome in the summer. Also, in Cleveland, the only time (with the exception of sporting events) during winter that I see as many people gather as do at the beach everyday is Saint Patrick's Day. I guess the Whisky keeps everyone warm.

Ramon Bautista is technically the superintendant for my building; in actuality, he's the super for most of the buildings on my block. Perhaps attracted by the basic capitalist drive of his scheme, he's managed to hire himself off for most...
