This site/sight makes me feel nostalgia for what has not yet been taken away--the unadulterated view of the Williamsburgh Clocktower. If the moneybags have their way, most of these views will be subsumed by tall, impersonal, expensive structures for the rich. But for now, this personal view of the beloved clock (and tower) remains my private pleasure, as does this abandoned truck, whose last day I wonder about everytime I pass....who parked it here? What happened--or didn't happen--to bring its career to an end?

i just moved to brooklyn and i'm already in love with the view of that damn tower. let me just say that you don't have to be a long-time brooklyn resident to hate the idea of the ratner development. BOO RATNER!!! BOO!!!

the old williamsburg bank. i went there many times in the fifties with my aunt. as i pass thru the highways around brooklyn i often see that tower and realize it may now be a protected structure under the building codes of the city. i think it has landmark status. people see it and know its the tallest structure in brooklyn or at least was.

i made this shot of the a couple of days ago. i was going to post it, but didnt because its blurry (accidentally still had the cam set on macro, from an earlier closeup shot), but since you posted it, i wanted to share mine too:

i love standing on my roof, looking at downtown - i have the best view of the tower... ill have to get out the telephoto and do some serious closeups when the weather clears a bit!

i snapped this one today while parking my car over on street. i liked the tree, as well as the , etc. the tower was an added bonus i kept in the shot so i could post it here :)

bonus snow as well! that must be a serious micro-climate to still have snow. I love how, despite its distance, the clocktower still holds its own in the landscape. Subtle, but strong.

This also helps to activate good memories from childhood days.
Mighty good job you're doing here!
