kissing the old blarney stone, eh. whoever kisses it is said to be full of blarney. by the way there is a sign at the bottom left. i thought at first that this guy was trying to look up a girls skirt but girls don't wear skirts anymore, well at least not as much as they used to. that was pretty much of us boys pastime in the old days, looking up.

I did not kiss the stone while I was there. I enjoyed the view and teasing my friends who did, but, kissing a stone that hundreds of thousands of other people have? While upside down? No thanks. The castle itself is pretty awesome, though.

The Blarney Stone is a fine Irish tradition, but one has to wonder, is it full of STD's and other communicable illnesses?

Jack, I remember a little bit of the skirt thing from the 1970's, but it was already dying down then. But today, while not as common as the dresses of old, one can find miniskirts wrapped around bare skin, which is also more fun to photograph. (with permission, of course) ;-)

The locals piss on it. And then sell tourist t-shirts and cut glass.

Laura : 16th Feb 2006 - 22:15 GMT

Right. I'd heard that too. which meant I def did not want to kiss it. ew.

Hedges of the Stars

Back in May, I went to Hollywood and took one of those tours of the stars homes--an air-conditioned bus, a guide both cynical and adoring who was working out comedy routines for his own future television appearances. In short, I...
