A Rainy Visit in Manhattan

- Elicar - Tuesday, February 14th, 2006 : goo

I visited my girlfriend in Goshen, New York on our Thanksgiving (Canadian) weekend. I must have brought the crappy weather with me as it was raining when I left Toronto and it rained the whole weekend that I was there. I insisted, however, that we go to Manhattan as I wanted to pay my respects at Ground Zero. Well, it was a very eventful trip! There was a terror alert on that Friday, we got lost trying to find Ground Zero, got drenched along 5th Avenue, had to leave an umbrella that wouldn't close at the subway station and took the wrong bus going back to Goshen. My girlfriend has been enjoying her upper middle class life in suburbia (New Yorkers, is Goshen a suburb? It seems too far for me!) and has not been in Manhattan for awhile. Apart from that, we had a good time.

Nothing personal Peter, but I'm pretty sure that's not City Hall. That building (unfortunately, I don't know what it is either) sits just to the East of City Hall, across Center Street. Tried to upload a picture of city hall, but I've not a clue as to how to "resize my file"!!! No offense intended, just didn't want Elicar to get the wrong idea.

Colavito is right. It is the Municipal Building. www.emporis.com/en/il/im/?id=171397 The City Hall is right accross it. It took me awhile to google it. I found old drawings that says Municipal Building, so that's what I googled.

Thanks to the both of you anyway. I remember my girlfriend did say to me it is the City Hall. So, she is also wrong. What's diff anyway?

Was that building in Ghostbusters? Looks like the right style... btw, wonderful pics, elicar.
