One of my fave wallpaper photos.

These pieces of caught in the are actually about the size of a softball. I had to lie down on the rocky to take this shot.

Thank you very much. I must admit, I always liked the way this one came out, especially the way the light shining through the ice changes the colours. I had a lot of time on my hands back then, so I would often go for walks around the town and look for things to take pictures of. I was still developing a style for shooting sea ice, so everything was trial and error and experimentation. When I saw the way this shot turned out, I started to realize what a role perspective can play in photography. If only you could see the hundreds, or even thousands of mediocre pictures I took aside from the ones I posted on citynoise. But I feel I may have another hundred or so decent shots lurking in a folder somewhere on my hard drive.

GGP: this really puts you right there: this fluid world

The gray areas of the beach in the satellite photo are beach gravel. The two stripes running lengthwise through that gravel are seaweed from the high tides. That is where this shot was taken. maps.google.ca/maps?ie=UTF8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en&q=&om=1&t=k&ll=61.600641,-71.958443&spn=0.002485,0.007231&z=17
