It's so pure and clear. It reminds me of the work of Demuth and other Precisionist painters of the early twentieth century.

give me a delaunay sky, any day...

hool: 2nd Aug 2002 - 15:58 GMT

nice work peter - really good layering in the composition - i see three different inclined layers in the buildings, and then the organic layer of sky and cloud in the background. very well exposed, too. which camera was this?

Peter: 2nd Aug 2002 - 17:31 GMT

thanks hool; positive critique really means alot coming from someone who knows their bizness as well as you do.

the cam is my new nikon n90s with digital photocoupler attached. the digi tack-on skews the f-stops a bit, so its not as naturally intuitive as shooting with a conventional manual slr, but im finally getting the hang of it.

as you can tell, its a fun camera; the above photo hasn't been edited, adjusted or photoshopped in any way. i just merely snaped it when i was out moving my car yesterday. the building is a verizon telephone trunk substation, this the oddly septic facade.

i like the cloud, but i am pretty enamored by the heavily shadowy bottom-left wall. viva the rule of thirds!

Re: Cloud. I like tha cloud, and a lovely link to a vomit story thrown in. My lucky day. The other day I was on the phone to my mum and I said, Oh my God the clouds outside are JUST LIKE the opening sequence of The Simpsons! Then I told her there was big yellow writing coming over the top of them too. She never believes anything I say, but the clouds were like the ones in the simpsons, promise.

Peter: 19th Apr 2005 - 13:19 GMT

ive often- when viewing a lovely clump of cumulus clouds- sung the opening to the simpson's theme song... "the siiiiimp-soooooonsssss..."

GGP: 6th Oct 2006 - 03:41 GMT

that;s a hell of a nice cloud, and I too sing the simpson's theme song when the sky hits that perfect, simpsons blue.
