Beware of dog... Disused building in Crown Heights, Brooklyn... This article has been viewed 2784 times in the last 2 years Catherine Penfold-Waxman: 13th Jan 2006 - 15:03 GMTMaybe it's this dog that we should be afraid of: Jamie: 13th Jan 2006 - 15:21 GMTnice photos. i like the newness of the fridge in contrast with it's environs Peter: 13th Jan 2006 - 15:27 GMThere in nyc, when you put out a dead refrigerator to be taken away with the trash, theres a law that requires you to remove the doors; apparently, back in the days when fridges had latching doors, kids would get trapped inside while playing in old trash fridges, ergo the law. so, whenever you see one sitting on the sidewalk without doors, you know its for the trash. however, i dont think they go in the regular trash, they go in a special pickup (that drains the freon, etc), which also has rules and special pickup days, times, fees, etc. since this one is tucked away so surreptitiously in the alcove of the disused building, im thinking someone put it out for pickup and it wasnt taken away because they didnt do it properly. so, instead of doing it properly, they just pushed it into the entry of this building and left it for someone else to worry about...
