Teddies!

- elaine - Monday, January 9th, 2006 : goo

[previous] :: [next]

it is my smalltime and modest belief i am very clever. i was walking home from drinking in a pub and saw these teddy crisps in the street and i said to my friend david "quickly! give me your camera, i need these teddies for citynoise" and lo, he gave me his camera, i took the photos, i downloaded them from his 'new device' onto my evidently klunky pc which took four hours to digest his camera (that is exaggeration btw) and now he has gone home and here, i have uploaded them as well.
i should get a gold star.
p.s. i hope you like the teddies.

Alas poor Teddies, left to be crushed and stepped upon...

elaine: 9th Jan 2006 - 02:36 GMT

well, exactly, and it was raining - i had to act fast because although i have to get up early in the morning for the dentist, and i will pass by here at 8.30 gmt or so, i can't guarantee a daylight sighting

Catherine Penfold-Waxman: 9th Jan 2006 - 02:45 GMT

If you go down to the pub today,
you're sure of a big surprise.
If you go down to the pub today,
you'd better alert citynoise.

For every bear that ever there was
Will gather there for certain, because
Today's the day the teddy bears have a photoshoot.

elaine: hahahahaha ##yeah##

Peter: 9th Jan 2006 - 05:36 GMT

this is currently my very favorite entry on cn! lol :) :)

i like the way you think, elaine. i do the same...

GGP: 9th Jan 2006 - 18:52 GMT

your dedication has paid off, elaine. nice teddies!

Catherine Penfold-Waxman: 9th Jan 2006 - 18:58 GMT

I like that your friend didn't question your sanity when you said, "quick, I need these teddies for citynoise." He's a keeper.

elaine: 9th Jan 2006 - 20:05 GMT

heh - he knows me verrry well. there were absolutely no questions asked.
usually i don't need a camera 'now' ever, because most of the pics i take can be taken another day, but these were candid, of the moment, teddies, soon, probably, to be melted in the rain and or eaten by rodents and birdies.

elaine: 9th Jan 2006 - 20:09 GMT

and actually i think it was less calm sounding than that. i may have been a little screechy, and i may have screeched other things like "loook!!! teddies!!!" and "quick quick!!!"

jack: 10th Jan 2006 - 01:42 GMT

where are the teddies? i see crumbs. nice poem catherine, you got it down nice. elaine, you like teddy bears?

elaine: 10th Jan 2006 - 10:31 GMT

better for ya?

and jack, not really, i was very very drunk.

i once gave my brother a panda teddy as a present. he now takes it out with him when he and his mates go out on the ran dan. in the morning when someone admits they may have done something they are a bit ashamed of they get to hold the panda. they call him 'the panda of shame'

Yes, as the memories return and that sinking feeling of horror takes hold of your soul, hold the Panda of Shame to your neck and he WILL take your shame away.

The Panda of Shame was voted the best new object introduced to partying since The Jacket. Wearing The Jacket often causes acts for which the Panda is later required to redeem.

Sadly I don't have a photo of The Panda at hand but I do have a snap of The Jacket.

Catherine Penfold-Waxman: 11th Jan 2006 - 19:32 GMT

I need to see 'The Jacket.' Please post it instantly, if not sooner. And set up a shoot for the Panda of Shame. He needs to meet the public.

Peter: indeed!
