fab. instant visual holiday. those two pictures belong together so well. black trees mirror black sands. i love the californian outdoors. i was driving up the coast on the one a couple of winters ago in an open topped car, and these pelicans flew alongside us eyeballing us. i had never seen pelicans fly before, they are clipped and kept in parks here, and also these were battleship grey. it made them look prehistoric. californian nature can look old in a way that nature never does here

the beaches look a bit more volcanic where you are. black sands and all. where are you anyway?

wherever you guys are i wish i was there. my family lives in ca. they moan when it hits 50 degrees. i'd like to moan like that here in new york.
