This is the at the , where I bought a train-pass on 9/10/01. It has been closed, hidden from view and boarded up behind a (re)construction barrier since the fateful day that two buildings fell, not 25 feet away from it...

I pass it each day on my commute, and it has been secluded behind a barrier for years... until yesterday. Apparently, it's been repaired and renovated, as its an old-style booth with a new finish on it, and is going back into service today.

It's sign bears the message "Have a nice day!".

Here's to reconstruction...

GGP: ohmygod!

Peter: 14th Dec 2005 - 19:50 GMT

my sentiments exactly! its been hidden from view for more than 4 years... but no longer!

Wait. Which train line? I live not more than 600 feet away (have for more than 10 years) and was unaware that something had reopened, always a cause for celebration, in my book.

Peter: 14th Dec 2005 - 21:29 GMT

the booth at the confluence of the station/ (E train)/ (2/3 trains) stop... where the old doors are still, and open from that station into the new station...

GGP: this is like an insane time capsule. "life before"

Peter: totally...

jack: is that rector street station? or cortlandt st.

Peter: see above comment from 14th Dec 2005 - 21:29

Stacey: 16th Dec 2005 - 18:09 GMT

Jack the N/R/W line that goes to Cortlandt street is still not open. When you are on those trains it passes by and you can see the construction going on.

Peter: 16th Dec 2005 - 18:16 GMT

the n/r/w station was open, but jsut re-closed last month in order to complete the construction... its really going to be nice when all the construction there is finally finished...

Stacey: 16th Dec 2005 - 20:07 GMT

Thanks Peter I never knew it reopened. I agree - it will look nice when its done.
