wow, the lowry building looks like it's made of cardboard and duct-tape. nice set of photos, the last one, of the bigwheel is particuarly nice.

Peter: 6th Dec 2005 - 15:34 GMT

wow! this is our first mancunian post, i believe. thanks!

the city looks much larger, cleaner and modern that id imagined. id really love to see more photos, thats for sure...

indykid: 6th Dec 2005 - 16:15 GMT

Peter, my feelings were very similar, I thought it would be much more grimy and industrial feeling. But everywhere you look new buildings are going up, and what's more is most of these wonderful attractions were free. Transport was cheap as well, £2 for 7 days unlimited bus travel!

gary-ann: that's cheap!

manchester tourism board: go manchester!

adam: i wanna go! field trip!

Peter: 6th Dec 2005 - 20:13 GMT

i wouldnt mind going myself, actually... someday when im rich, i swear, im gonna tour all of europe, heh.

steelisreal: i just love anything in england.

Catherine Penfold-Waxman: 7th Dec 2005 - 01:12 GMT

joey: 7th Dec 2005 - 02:52 GMT

can you pick up some 'smarties' and 'flakes' for me while were there. never mind the bullocks.

steelisreal: 7th Dec 2005 - 04:35 GMT

joey we have a store here in monterey california that sells british food, i go get flakes and hobnobs and other things alot.

indykid: 7th Dec 2005 - 10:35 GMT

Joey, I don't know when you last had Smarties but your gonna be dissapointed with the new packaging. Hexaganol tubes...no plastic lids with a letter on!

elaine: 7th Dec 2005 - 10:39 GMT

oh, steelisreal, you got it baaaad!
hobnobs, eh?
i feel bad i have not made it into the west end to get the pic you asked for, but i still remember - i will do it one day
