Catherine Penfold-Waxman: 4th Dec 2005 - 20:44 GMTYou're absolutely right, Jamie. Trainers for the Brits, Sneakers for the Americans. Like Muppet for the Brits, Toy for the Americans. jeeff: 4th Dec 2005 - 21:01 GMTthat is a really cool photo. it looks like the set for a musical entitled "hobo's christmas" BZZZP: 7th Dec 2005 - 03:26 GMTit IS hobo xmas under there. they've scattered a bit since twin donut burned down, but they're still there, hangin around the bodegas and benches. why, i dunno, but i think they sleep in a couple of abandoned houses i've seen down in astoria village, and come hang out there for the day... sneakers, check. i might have some, will document. BZZZP: 7th Dec 2005 - 03:34 GMTit's also a mixture of bare bulbs and bulbs-in-flimsy-cups... with tinsel Peter: 7th Dec 2005 - 14:15 GMTheh. theres a scene just like this at broadway and 125th street... the overpass, a twin donut, the hobos. havent been up that ways in a while, but i used to cycle past it every day going to work. jack: 7th Dec 2005 - 16:24 GMTwhats with, xmas. i thought it was Christmas. whats with tree of light, life, holiday, i thought it was Christmas tree. whats with holidays i thought it was Christmas holidays. why is everyone so afraid to put the emphasis on Christ. it is His birthday that we celebrate! but you know, non-christian people will not let us celebrate the birth of Jesus. it offends them. i like the jewish holidays and kwanza, so why cant people like the celebration of Jesus' birthday. is it because santa clause has taken a more prominent place. sorry i had to say all this. i get fed up with the politics. this is a great site and i enjoy the pictures. i apoligize for using it as a soap box.
