14th St Smoke

- Balloonhedz - Thursday, November 3rd, 2005 : goo

[previous] :: [next]

Yesterday morning a 4th Alarm was transmitted at 15th Street tween 9th and 10th Aves in Chelsea for a fire in a parking garage. Where we were, rear of the building, the air was pretty much clear for the most part. Occasionally a wind shift would bring some smoke down and back our way, but for the most part it wafted up and east, as evidenced here

Amy: How pretty. Smoke is amazing.

i read about that in the paper- nice shots!

as a tangent: i hear the "western beef" on 14th street (on the left in the first photo) is going to close early next year, and be renovated as luxury office/condo space.

chalk up another old nyc neighborhood to gentrification, i guess...

Balloonhedz: 4th Nov 2005 - 18:11 GMT

thanks for the kudos :-)
I hope the renovation includes serious exterminator work..Im sure theres lots of critters there to be dealt with. Unfortunately the gentrification is whats making the area attractive.

Kon: Nice shots.

Another in the broken signage series. They really mean it. Or is it DON'T WALK DON'T WALK.
