More photos from my walk around Orton Mere today

I quite consciously distanced myself from the other photographers here; and there were a fair few. Trainspotters. Taking photos of trains. Not that there's anything inherently wrong with that. I took some photos of some trains yesterday. But i think you see what i'm getting at. My vinatge Jersey with suitably matched antiqued denims plus biker jacket allowed some such distance to be achieved. I hope.

And just to bring the point home; I took no photos of any trains. But hang on. Surely they mean Baby You're Bionic. or am i just being plain pedantic?

Saw these stickers too all over the place. Dunno what they are or what they mean.

I feel inspired to make similar stickers; 8 blocks wide, perfect for cryptic 8 bit ascii messages.

Peter: 19th Sep 2005 - 13:40 GMT

ive seen those stickers in the last frame before, too... the mystery thickens!

rocky: 19th Sep 2005 - 14:10 GMT

i think it spells 'hope' upside-down, the shapes interconnecting vertically

jamie: i don't see it

Peter: 19th Sep 2005 - 14:27 GMT

maybe its a sort of bar-code or otherwise binary-encoded mystery?

Peter: 19th Sep 2005 - 14:28 GMT

also: "" has been getting some ups on both sides of the atlantic... ive seen that shit around in brooklyn, too.

elaine: 19th Sep 2005 - 14:43 GMT

i think you are pedantic, but you are not just pedantic. i like the teddies

ricky: 20th Sep 2005 - 11:11 GMT

how is it binary though. it is just some shapes and squares and its not like a barcode

shelby: 20th Sep 2005 - 12:57 GMT

is maybe its a grid of squares like black ones ar the 0's and white ones are the 1's but i dunno like how to read binary though

Jamie: 20th Sep 2005 - 12:58 GMT

learn more about

jamie: 7th Jun 2006 - 16:35 GMT

i wonder, will anyone ever decode the meaning of these cryptic stickers?

ian: 11th Sep 2006 - 05:14 GMT

Jamie, that's too easy :)

They're 3x3 grids with one block separating each grid. Notice the first bit is NEVER used, so I'll cut it off to leave me with 8 bits. Transcribing them, assuming they're in the correct orientation in the picture, I get

01000011 01001001 01010100 01011001 01001110 01001111 01001001 01010011 01000101 00101110 01001111 01010010 01000111

In 8 bit ASCII, this is... gasp..

(just realized I also commented when this was first posted, but was in too much of a hurry to think about decoding it.)
