Orton Mere

It's a popular place for a cheap family day out; and also quite popular with trainspotters. The Nene Valley Railway stops here. It's a sort of railway heritage touristy private railway sort of thing. The end of the line is Railworld which i posted some photos of yesterday. In the other direction I think it goes as far as a small village called Alwalton. It's the kind of place where the people claim to be from Peterborough when actually they aren't. Much like the town i grew up in.
So Orton Mere is part of a Network of citywide nature reserves and suchlike operated by Nene Park Trust or something like that. Every beautyspot has a seedy underbelly though.
