The Junction in B&w
[previous] :: [next]Like most cities in North America, the grid system rules Toronto. Streets in the downtown core generally run unwaveringly east-west or north-south. Dundas Street is the lone exception, snaking up through the west end of the city and creating a neighbourhood called The Junction where it crosses Bloor Street. Maybe because of its odd urban geography, this place feels like the dark side of the moon.

Peter: 12th Sep 2005 - 16:18 GMTme too. that chinese food one is cool. i think this might be the first time ive seen your photography, jeeff. cool! i hope you post more. these are really nice shots. btw... theres a similar "jesus saves" cross sign here in brooklyn. ill have to grab some pics. it now says "JESUS IS THE LIGHT OF THE WOR D" cause the "L" fell off. jeeff: 12th Sep 2005 - 20:24 GMTfirst time you've seen my photography? huh? i've posted lots on here...
Peter: 13th Sep 2005 - 14:09 GMThmm, let me rephrase that- i forgot that you couldnt read my mind- the first b/w pensive-ish style. yeah, of course- the colorful japan photos wer tops, and i love the shots around the garage out back of your place. but these... these evoke such a different vibe. thats what i meant. sorry, usually when im commenting, its very rushed, as i peep into this site on and off while im pretty busy working... and sometimes my thoughts are too trite, brief or truncated... heh. jeeff: 13th Sep 2005 - 15:38 GMToh yeah, i see. in truth, they're b&w because they colours were crap.
jamie: 13th Sep 2005 - 16:22 GMTthats the main reason you'll find my photos in black and white too, to be honest. Peter: 13th Sep 2005 - 16:29 GMTjamie- you still got that toycam?? the colors that came from that were NUTS!
Peter: 13th Sep 2005 - 17:48 GMTi hear there are lots of things in canada. it is, after all, a very large country. jeeff: 13th Sep 2005 - 18:47 GMTmy hometown, london, ontario, is known as the most conservative city in canada. they still have faith meetings at the city bandshell and run editorials in the paper denouncing evolution. a few years ago the mayor refused to proclaim gay pride day on grounds that it was immoral and was censured by the ontario human rights commission. the commission ruled that she had to proclaim it. instead, she went into hiding and remained that way through her election campaign and still won a second mayoral term by a handy margin. one surprising up-side is that new technology is always tested first in london because high tech companies figure that if londoners can accept it, anyone can. Peter: 13th Sep 2005 - 18:54 GMTif londoners can accept it, anyone can what a claim to fame for a city... interesting. you should do an entry about your hometown. i should too, i think. mine looks like this:
elaine: 13th Sep 2005 - 21:31 GMThar, london uk is more like if londoners wont accept it noone will jeeff: 13th Sep 2005 - 21:36 GMTi did! i don't go there too often. next time i visit it'll be rainy cold november. maybe i'll do a "dreary london" entry.
