i like this little mosaic space invader tucked in beside the vibe bar, not graf zacly but an example of ambient art of which there are other examples to catch another time

that space invader was done by a famous street artist (he may do graffiti but i cant remember). theres one in nyc and la and im sure many other cities.

good find

elaine: 7th Sep 2005 - 15:45 GMT

wow! really? cool. it would be good if someone could go snag the others for this page

Jamie: 7th Sep 2005 - 15:48 GMT

so is it like a real mosaic or a pasteup/stickup or what? or is it just painted? it looks like a real mosaic

Peter: 7th Sep 2005 - 15:49 GMT

its a real tile mosaic. i have some shots of em from around nyc... lemme see if i can dig em up.

elaine: crikey, well done that researcher

elaine: 7th Sep 2005 - 16:13 GMT

it would be good to do a big one in a bathroom or kitchen with regular size tiles, or is that just me?

tenyen: 7th Sep 2005 - 16:51 GMT

space invaders are sooo iconic. not sure if I'd have one in my bathroom, kitchen or doorstep. the one below was photocopied and plastered all over my cube before I left my big job. note the telephone door handle. "Mr. Wizard, get me the hell out of here"

elaine: 12th Sep 2005 - 10:58 GMT

Peter: 12th Sep 2005 - 15:57 GMT

so cool!! whoever said you need more than just a photo to post an entry? ;)

elaine: 12th Sep 2005 - 16:24 GMT

i dunno. just doesn't seem quite muscular enough somehow, but spose this one does speak for itself pretty much. it's been around for ages, this, i just didn't get around to snapping it til yesterday

barry: Elaine I like your photos in this entry a lot.

elaine: 2nd Nov 2005 - 02:31 GMT

ta, barry, but of course, none of the artwork is mine, and it is great living right in such a vibrant neighbourhood

lost: 13th Apr 2007 - 12:39 GMT
