against the day. today i think on balance, i was against the day. this is also a tech term for shooting against the light. i am not against light. it may be the only reliable thing... except the dark.
and i am very much not allowed to take photographs here. this is an operational hospital, and a scandal, in my view. such a pretty building left to degenerate - see how pretty the turn of the bannister? outside the clock has no hands. i want to take a photograph, but i have been told off before here and am in no fit state to defend myself. another time.
and on the way home i buy a jamaican pattie hot. and eat it on a bench

it's a crying shame to see the state the nhs is prepaed to let this beautiful building get into. this bit of the interior is, by design, so beautiful, but a lot of the panneling is full of drilled holes, the window frames are ruined, and god knows if the roof is good. it seems to me they are letting it slide so they never have to fix it, and then it won't even be fixable. d'you see the craftmanship in the turn of the handrail on the bannister?
