Something tells me that the people of Prospect Heights aren't very fond of this mural... This article has been viewed 3009 times in the last 3 years jeeff: 5th Aug 2005 - 16:04 GMTman, some of the 'graffiti transformation' murals around toronto are the most hideous things you're ever likely to see. just goes to show how far our civic leaders have their heads stuck up their arses. Peter: 5th Aug 2005 - 16:08 GMThahah totally. same here. they have a penchant for having school kids do "public murals" here on the occasional graffed up walls... and man, let me tell you, id rather see the shittiest graf ever than the tourettes-ish scrawls of schoolkids who have been programmed to paint foofy shit about peace, love and unity around freakishly technicolored tadpole-shaped people. heh. theyre in the middle of putting up some vast (like, a couple of blocks long) murals on the side of the grocery store around here... im curious to see how long its up before it gets bombed. so far, it looks equally hideous. like they gridded out a paint-by-numbers and let the kids color it in. im definitely making before/after photos of that shit! jeeff: 5th Aug 2005 - 16:43 GMTmost people here leave the murals alone, i guess cuz they feel bad about covering the kids' work. i'd love to cover it up, but only if i could do something grand and sweeping over the whole thing. Gaz: 6th Aug 2005 - 07:08 GMTRight in the centre of my town there's these pedestrian underpasses that go under a busy roundabout. The city council have used the usual kiddie mural tactics and sure enough no one gone over it. Some ones has taken to it with a black marker though subtly adding some sinister expressions to the faceless jolly characters. It also looks like the same individual has added some well placed evil robot/alien type creatures into the mix. allforcarrie: 8th Feb 2006 - 15:08 GMTI always love to see "well placed evil robot/alien type creatures" they add nicly to anything.
