image 3776image 3777 tears could erode paint and create streaks of rust, then, if you cried long enough on painted metal. in the world of culture v nature, nature always wins. people say they love nature, but we fight it all the time with our puny one horse culture, just to give ourselves the illusion of control and of permanence. seaside sees to that. here, then, is a geography always, where maps are contingent and repair is constantly wanting

yeah, that's what i thought. suits my mood today. luckily the old (gainsborough?) b/w film of jane eyre with orson welles is on tv, so now my day has turned out so blue, at least i can lie on the sofa with my rusty tears in front of a quality weepie
