This badly framed, badly distorted oportunistic photo of a i've spotted in various locations on street signs around

what does that sign the stickers are on say? "No fouling..."?

Jamie: 22nd Jun 2005 - 13:53 GMT

NO FOULING - Maximum Penalty £50

ie. don't get caught letting your dog shit on this street

Peter: 22nd Jun 2005 - 14:02 GMT

we have stuff like this here:

image 2872

we also have city-made signs around town (complete with a stick-figure man walkinga pooping dog) but i cant find any photos of a sign like that at the moment...

if i were to eat your brain i think i would want it sauteed with onion and chips - oh, i just realised i am hungry, sorry!

jeeff: i like how they used the disney font.

Peter: hahaha, thats the best part!

elaine: 22nd Jun 2005 - 14:29 GMT

i think it is important and righteous to abuse disney as much as poss cos they sue so ruthlessly

jeeff: 23rd Jun 2005 - 00:35 GMT

yeah, disney is evil. i studied classical animation in college for a short time at a school that was funded mostly by disney. i learned a lot that made me disrespect them.

Peter: 23rd Jun 2005 - 14:08 GMT

weird fact: because of disney's huge profits at disney world, the whole state of florida doesnt have any sales tax. thats alot of money changing hands and filtering into the state's economy.

also: disney is considered at the forefront of liberal employee benefits, giving the same benefits to same-sex partners of employees... making them about 100x more liberal than most other southern-based corporations.

not playing devil's advocate. theyre up there with some of the most evil corporations, for sure. just naming some amusing facts.

elaine: 23rd Jun 2005 - 14:11 GMT

and what about the weird disney town where there are all the rules? what is that all about?

Peter: 23rd Jun 2005 - 14:12 GMT

ahh, you mean "Celebration, Florida", est. 1994?

www.celebrationfl.com
www.celebration-florida-relocation.com

yeah, sorta creepy!

elaine: ##i'll## say!

Peter: 23rd Jun 2005 - 14:18 GMT

ive even heard that they apply disney-style special effects to the town as a whole... like carting in golden leaves to scatter about in autumn, etc...

jeeff: 23rd Jun 2005 - 16:25 GMT

the weird thing about disney is that they promote all these 'liberal' values but within those they're absolutely rigid about social policy. like a politically correct big brother. the old contract for animators gave them a house and a car along with their job, but they had to sign a strict code of conduct. breaches of the code could result in not just the loss of your job, but your house and car too. kind of like living in i imagine.

Peter: 23rd Jun 2005 - 16:37 GMT

yeah, thats pretty stringent. sorta like disallowing long-haired men from entering the park: www.snopes.com/disney/parks/longhair.htm

www.snopes.com/disney/disney.asp is a fascinating read, btw... especially the part that led me to www.europa.com/~cabelsa/flash... hehehehe...

Snow Removal Mission

We are in the midst of a two-week snow removal blitz that started on Friday and should last for a while longer. Apparently over the weekend 15,000 truckloads of snow were trucked out of the streets and dumped. I guess...
