Reservoir Bogs
[previous] :: [next]It's funny how the future, when it crumbles, sometimes looks like the past...this is a view across what was once the Ridgewood Reservoir on the border of Brooklyn and Queens. That fuzzy shadow is the Empire State Building--that reminded me how tall it is. The reservoir has just become part of the NYC parks system, and who knows what they'll do with it? The guide for our walking tour, organized by the Brooklyn Center for the Urban Environment, reminded us that the main branch of the NY Public Library was built on the site of a former reservoir at 42nd Street....
