ea: that calls for a series displaying various skies eh

elaine: 20th Jun 2005 - 18:08 GMT

ooh, nice idea. what you got in the way of sky there?

ea: 20th Jun 2005 - 18:22 GMT

looks like yours!
but what I meant was...
to see your framed skies referenced through wrought iron signage
since you're consistent about building onto posts ;)

elaine: boom boom!

elaine: 20th Jun 2005 - 18:47 GMT

boom boom also an empty reference repeat, unless by some oddness you got basil brush on your tv as a kid - he was a glove puppet who was a fox, and he would say something funny then say 'boom boom' for emphasis. he laughed really well, with his snout in the air, but comedy neither travels nor ages well

Peter: 21st Jun 2005 - 14:15 GMT

simply great. i love the repeat.

reminded me of this blank-like photo:

image 2823

elaine: 3rd Jul 2005 - 16:01 GMT

yeah, ea - this is more what i meant, plus image 3230 and image 3231, but you are right there are more - i think i have a couple more on file, but there is one specific one i want to photograph for this and ironically when i went to photograph it i had forgotten to put the memory card back in my camera, how's that for an empty sign...

elaine: 26th Jul 2005 - 09:26 GMT

...and here it is

image 3778image 3779

GGP: 5th Aug 2005 - 15:01 GMT

One more.
image 4107

elaine: ooh! likey! now that is ##very## pleasing

GGP: 5th Aug 2005 - 20:24 GMT

a wee bit totemic, eh?
i may have finally found a god I can really get behind!

ea: 5th Aug 2005 - 21:50 GMT

oooooooh nooo tv?! ggp, what would wendell berry say?

elaine: 6th Aug 2005 - 07:09 GMT

the call to prayer for the 'lost' robots... hey, i thought we were going to start a cult worshipping robotbuildings?

elaine: 7th Sep 2005 - 09:02 GMT

more emptiness
image 4659

Peter: i love this series...

elaine: 7th Sep 2005 - 14:15 GMT

ta, mate. now i have to get the empty clock face from the mental hospital

elaine: 20th Oct 2005 - 19:31 GMT

after some prevaricating i finally got the clockface - top photos here

Peter: 23rd Dec 2005 - 16:28 GMT

this is one of my favorite series on here... ranks right up there with the s... thanks elaine :)

elaine: 23rd Dec 2005 - 16:34 GMT

really? i thought perhaps it was a bit obscure and just-me ish

Peter: 23rd Dec 2005 - 16:42 GMT

are you kidding? i really love the ongoing series, where we keep adding to them... s, , blank , faces, , abandoned es, etc etc.

and this one is particularly sublime, which makes me like it all the more. do keep it up...

elaine: 23rd Dec 2005 - 16:43 GMT

well, yes, i like our enriched threads too. adding pictures makes a thread oh so crunchy!

elaine: 5th Jan 2006 - 09:50 GMT

and i like that there is an arrow directing us to where the nothingness may be found

Jamie: 5th Jan 2006 - 11:18 GMT

what a great thread, and this is the first time i've seen it. wow...all the shots are cool but especially the original post photos, ggp's, the broadway market shot, accodata's (very cool), peter's official lack of information, and the anonymous shot. i love how there has to be a sign announcing the other sign is not in use, what a strange concept.

and now i know that building onto posts isn't frowned upon here, coolness.

New Use for Urban Ruins?

While on my trip to Montreal last month, I decided to take a trip to the Olympic Stadium by bike. As I'm driving down the bike lane (quite a novelty to me) I notice what looks like empty walls...
