Pet Bird Parking
[previous] :: [next]
This is the same No Parking sign as depicted in the Lionel Richie Paste-ups article. I pass it every day walking to the train to go to work, and marvel at how quickly it changes, is tagged, replaced, cleaned, tagged, replaced, painted, etc. It looks different almost every day. Today, when I passed, I noticed that it has been decorated by the increasingly infamous Pet Bird, who is apparently experimenting with smaller stickers and a text-only approach. Hmm. I sort of liked the bird images better; perhaps they'll be popping up again sometime soon. Peter: 10th Jun 2005 - 17:36 GMTat owner's expense... heh. im always fascinated by the stubbornness of some people re: graffiti. thike the building with this sign, for example. they replace it every time it gets hit. though their replacements have slowed lately (its getting hit alot?) the ystill do it, or go through apparently tedious measures to clean the sign and remove the paint/stickers/ink. you think that after a while, theyd get the idea that their plan isnt working well and is costing them alot of money. just for a generic no parking sign. im not sure i have the perfect solution to appease all concerned parties, but youd think theyd think of a better alternative. a better-protected sign, a higher up sign, etc. or maybe they could just get Pet Bird or Lionel Richie to do the actual sign for them... you know, make it arty. then i bet they wouldnt have to replace it as much. hmm. jeeff: 10th Jun 2005 - 17:59 GMTi wonder if anyone's invented anti-parking paint. the cars slide right outta the spot.
Peter: 10th Jun 2005 - 18:03 GMT...though im sure conventional paint filled with metal and glass shards would probably make idea anti-parking paint, but it might be a bit of a public liability... heh. Comment on this article[previous] :: [next] |
