fuzzytank:

I'm using a Nikon D70 with a 50mm f/1.4 (top) and 24mm f/2.8 (bottom.) I shoot in raw then edit them with the ufraw plugin in the gimp.

Peter:

I thought so at first too :) They're full of sand, but the garbage in the bayou has accumulated on top of them, giving rise to that impression.

i saw a natl. geographic explorer program on this HUGE dam theyre building in a wasteland area of europe... the eposide i saw detailed their trials and efforts to build a cofferdam to divert water from the river through miles of tunnels sunk deep into the bedrock... so as to facilitate the huge dam they were building. this episode sprung immediately to mind when i saw these photos.
a dam/water-diversion construction, of any size, looks like a monumental task. fighting mother nature is a bitch, im sure!

kobe: nice photos, mate.
