this is the meeting place. it feels like a pagan ritual, as the riders circle under the sculpture's unblinking eyes: around, and around, the mass builds momentum.

*to jamie: that's the legend i received. look at the sculpture, look at the dogs, look at the sculpture. it's supposed to be the head of an afgan hound, abstracted.

...but it is weird that you are spamming me off the "recent articles" board with sculpture pics, and writing things on swinney. and my last sculpture post, calder, got deleted too...

what's up? whatever it is, i would like to get things straightened out. bikes and buddhas: turn the wheel; progress. and hopefully regain that feeling of freedom from negative attachments.

hey paulg, that article is here: www.citynoise.org/article/677 - also, you can find it by searching for calder also... so it hasnt been deleted. Not sure what the confusion is about here. The date on that entry may be different than when you originally posted it, but hats only because some things on the backend got screwed up, and we had to repost about 250 articles that weren't properly backed-up.

I'm also confused with this alacrity re: "spamming me off the board with sculpture pics". surely you dont think that someone else posting photos of sculpture is somehow intended as an act against you? There are tons of posts regarding sculpture here.

It's all good as far as I can tell, man, but I'm sort of confused as to exactly what it is that needs to be "straightened out"... you seem very concerned about your entries and interactions on some communities we all visit... and I know you've had some drama with online dealings, and can surely empathize... but is everything ok?

Paul G. I have no beef with you and I have no idea how you could have come to such conclusions based on such benign and frankly irrelevant actions on my part. Yeah, I posted some photos of some sculptures which knocked yours off the recent articles list, but with the current momentum here posts roll of the top spot in less than aday in most cases. The fact that your cycling photos also contain some sculpture is quite irrelevant.

They are great pics by the way. On the subject of swinney i've been posting there for years. I've been inactive for a long time andhave recently posted a few writings about people i have known, some entirely fictional pieces and some stuff about my time in Northern Ireland. I don't know you and don't know much about you only from reading a few of your swinney articles over the years, but if anything i've written or said has offended you in some way please come right out with it. calder confusion: yep, i see the article, now. the date, format, article number, and author's name are different. i linked to the old article, and saw it disappear. a review of "Paul G" entries revealed it missing - as it's now back as a (no space) "PaulG" piece.

other authors: you and your friends enjoy the use of aliases, for the purpose of constructed multiple personalities. i understand that it is a game for those "in the know." but it can be a cause of concern for those being played. the name of the author/photog is no guarantee of the identity. so if readers don't question things, they end up being dupes. that's the environment.

on-line drama: it's not only that i was involved in "drama," and found myself trashed, but that it seems she is connected to you and the site...

if i speculate, it's because that's what i'm left with as a result of the aliases and lying.

if i speak out, it's because i want to make some effort to set things right.

stuff is not ok, and i would like to be careful with my time and energy. the comment is going to come off as harsh, but i'm trying to find the best way to work through this.

paul g, there are no aliases here, save for the "editors" name that jamie and i both use for editorial/tutorial comments, just for the purpose of simplicity and implied (but still anonymous) authority on this login-less site where we try to keep hierarchy and competition to a minimum (thus the attention given to this thread). so yeah!

and finally: as i said, feel free to email me any editorial needs you have- for example, changing the "author name" of your pieces to whatever variation of your nick you prefer... i think i may have botched some of those technicalities when i was racing to repost articles that were accidentally erased a while back. like i said, theres no comspiracy here, just some editorial oversights. let me know and ill fix it however you like :)
