Yesterday, riding home through Newark on the PATH train, I happened across some Blood signs for once...

sometimes i'm just walkin down the street and some random guys they'll come up and start axing me questions about the colours that i've got on. The angle of my hat. My mothers maiden name. That sorta shit. It's insane. They say stuff like "Hey you with the ladies hat on, is you a crip?" i say, "no thanks i had a bag of monster munch and a twix earlier, but thanks anyway"

and to complete the mutual link.. it seems to me that jamie's dogged attempts to just be a person in NI in the face of such a strong desire to always be at the pulling this way and that is just that same construction of reality which does make it worth always making the monster munches crack or whatever, as long as you don't get a cracked jaw, because its not crips v bloods or the sectarian feud, it's that version of violence as reality versus another version of reality. I rest my case. compare and contrast overseas from coast to coast and the rest...
